Do I Have to Inspect My Project?
When construction stormwater inspections must begin, when they end, and the two standard TCEQ inspection schedule options.
Mandatory Inspection Schedules Under TXR150000
The TCEQ Construction General Permit requires that all permitted construction sites be inspected. Inspections must commence as soon as earth-disturbing activities begin and must continue until Final Stabilization is achieved and Permit coverage is formally terminated.
The TPDES General Permit allows operators to choose between two inspection schedules (unless restricted by local city MS4 rules):
- Option 1: Once every seven (7) calendar days (no separate rain event inspections required by TCEQ).
- Option 2: Once every fourteen (14) calendar days AND within 24 hours of a 0.5-inch or greater storm event.
Changing Your Inspection Schedule
The Permit allows you to modify your inspection schedule once per calendar month (implemented within the first five business days of the month), provided the SWP3 is updated in writing with the new schedule and the reason for the change.
